Instructions
- Preparation: Remove the packaging from the camembert, but leave the cheese in the wooden box. Using a sharp knife, cut small slices into the top of the camembert.
- Garlic (optional) and rosemary: Stick garlic slices and rosemary sprigs into the slices of camembert.
- Honey and pepper: Drizzle the camembert with honey and add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.
- Place the camembert on the barbecue – better indirectly such that the box does not burn. Let grill for about 10-15 minutes over medium-high heat until the cheese is completely melted.
- Remove the camembert from the BBQ and serve immediately with slices of baguette or French bread. Tasty!
A Camembert in wooden box.
Ingredients for toppings (optional: garlic, rosemary, honey)
First, remove the plastic wrapping from the Camembert and place the cheese back in the wooden box. Make a few incisions in the top of the cheese and add some toppings, if desired. Optional – wrap the box in aluminum foil – and place on the BBQ for about 10-15 minutes on indirect heat.
Use indirect heat to prevent the Camembert from melting and burning too quickly. Maintain a moderate temperature.
Camembert from BBQ goes well with French bread, crackers, or as a dip with vegetable sticks. You can also use it in a salad or as a topping on a burger.
Camembert is ready when the inside is soft and runny. You can test this by gently pressing into the top of the cheese; if it feels soft, it is melted and ready to serve.
Yes, other cheeses such as Brie or even softer cheddar can also be prepared on the BBQ, but keep in mind different melting times and textures.
