For the tzatziki sauce:


Preparing Tzatziki Sauce:

  • Wash the cucumber well and grate it with a coarse grater.
  • Place the grated cucumber in a sieve and press with the back of a spoon to squeeze out as much moisture as possible. Let it drain until most of the moisture is removed.
  • In a bowl, combine the drained cucumber, salt, pepper, Greek yogurt, and dill. Stir well and set aside.

Layout of the board:

  • Start with a bed of iceberg lettuce on each plate, seasoned with salt and pepper.
  • Place the halved cherry tomatoes, diced feta and red onion on top of the lettuce, and sprinkle with some oregano for extra flavor.
  • Place the grated carrots on the left side of the plate.
  • Spoon the tzatziki sauce to the right side of the plate.
  • Place the corn in the middle between the carrots and the tzatziki sauce.
  • Place the fried pita meat at the front of the plate.
  • Serve with a toasted pita bun on the side.
  • Invite everyone to fill their own pita and enjoy the Pita Huys Special!

Meat and bread

  • Fry the pita meat in a hot pan until cooked through and slightly crispy. The meat has enough of its own fat, so extra oil is not necessary.
  • Toast the pita breads in a toaster until warm and slightly crispy.
