Prepare the Croque Monsieur
- Spread one side of 8 Slices bread with a layer of butter.
- On an ungreased side of the bread, place a slice of ham and two slices of cheese and a slice of pineapple.
- Cover with a second slice of bread, buttered side out.
Baking
- Heat a grill pan or croque-monsieur appliance over medium-high heat.
- Place the croques in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the cheese is melted and the bread is nice and golden brown and crispy.
- Are you baking for a big gang? Then put the baked croques on a plate and put them in an oven of max 100°C. That way you can bake several times before going to the table.
Presentation
- Cut the croque diagonally for a nice presentation. Optionally, place an additional slice of pineapple on the croque.
- Serve immediately, possibly on a wooden board, along with a small portion of salad.
