Prepare the Croque Madame
- Spread one side of 8 Slices bread with a layer of butter.
- On an ungreased side of the bread, place a slice of ham and two slices of cheese.
- Cover with a second slice of bread, buttered side out.
Bake
- Heat a grill pan or croque-monsieur appliance over medium-high heat.
- Place the croques in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the cheese is melted and the bread is nice and golden brown and crispy.
