Instructions
Broccoli
- Clean the broccoli and cut into florets. Also cut the stem.
- Cook or steam until tender in 5 to 10 minutes.
- Puree with a hand blender for a fine result or with the pestle for a coarse result. If necessary, add some broccoli cooking water for a creamy result.
Mashed potatoes
- Peel the potatoes.
- Bring water to a boil. Add salt. Add the potatoes. Cook them for about 20 minutes until tender.
- Drain the water and put the potatoes back in the pot. Let the excess water evaporate for a few minutes. Mash.
Finish
- Put the potato and broccoli together.
- Add the butter and milk and continue mashing.
- Season with salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg, possibly some cayenne pepper and lemon juice.
- Serve the broccoli puree warm as a side dish.
